Board Governance:

The Board operates on a consensus basis and makes all decisions jointly regarding proposals and organizational matters. SLAAMB staff consult the Board on all major decisions.

Note: The SLAAMB Board has authorized the Executive Director to make decisions on the Individual Initiatives program, including funding approvals primarily for off-reserve First Nation members in the region.

Proposal Submissions:

SLAAMB requests all First Nations and Indigenous organizations submit training proposals at least one (1) week before a scheduled Board meeting. This allows staff to complete necessary assessments.

  • If more than one proposal is submitted, a Band Council Resolution (BCR) should identify training priorities.
  • All proposals must include BCRs or letters of support and detailed training or work plans.
