SLAAMB has partnered with the Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout to train then employ up to 20 First Nations People from Northwestern Ontario as Certified Medical Interpreters. Everyone applying MUST fluently speak either Oji-Cree, Ojibway or Cree and English languages prior to being accepted into this one (1) year course.
The course will start Monday, February 22, 2010 until Friday, February 25, 2011.
It is expected that people completing the course will be employed at the regional hospitals.

Friday, January 15, 2010.**
There will be assessment committees set up for each of the projects to screen and select the candidates also monitor the candidates and projects.
