Apprenticeship Program
Have you been working in your community as a carpenter, electrician or plumber for a few years? You may qualify to register as an Apprentice with MTCU or the Union. You will need your prior learning experience verified by your past employers. After you register as an apprentice, we can help you find a placement in the construction of the Meno-ya-win Hospital or the Hostel. The starting salary is about 45 % of journeyman's wages. After the probation period of 60 days, your pay will be based on your assessment and level of skill. Once you obtain the required hours, you are eligible to write the certificate of qualification provincial exam in your chosen trade.
